xz-announce

xz-announce is for release announcements of XZ Utils and XZ for Java. This is a very low volume list with only a couple of messages per year. Messages sent to this list are also sent to xz-devel.

Steps to subscribe to the xz-announce mailing list:

Email the line subscribe xz-announce in the message body (subject is ignored) to majordomo at tukaani dot org.
You should receive a reply that asks you to send another email to confirm the subscription. Follow the instructions in this email.
Majordomo should reply with Succeeded.

To unsubscribe, send unsubscribe xz-announce in the message body to majordomo at tukaani dot org.

xz-devel

xz-devel is for general discussion about any of the XZ projects. Archives of the old posts are available in The Mail Archive.

Steps to subscribe to the xz-devel mailing list:

Email the line subscribe xz-devel in the message body (subject is ignored) to majordomo at tukaani dot org.
You should receive a reply that asks you to send another email to confirm the subscription. Follow the instructions in this email.
Majordomo should reply with Succeeded.

Subscribers can post to the list by sending email to xz-devel at tukaani dot org.

Notes:

You must subscribe to the list to be able to post. This is to minimize spam.
A few big email services (including GMail) occasionally consider the messages to be spam. Sometimes the messages are completely blocked for a while.
Write in English.
Use plain text (no HTML email).
Avoid top posting.
Now that the XZ projects are on GitHub, some people prefer it over a mailing list, so you may want to check for activity there too.
